Dr. Aparna Govil

Dr Aparna Govil is a renowned Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with a rich experience of over 22 years is currently working in Currae Specialty Hospital, Kapurbawdi. She was previously associated with Apollo Hospital, Belapur and Saifee Hospital, Mumbai.

She has handled numerous complex medical cases and is known for her attention to detail, accurate diagnosis, and treating patients with empathy. She has the expertise to cater to this high-risk population of patients suffering from clinically severe obesity both during and after bariatric surgery. She has a special interest in single-incision surgery. 

She is the Chairperson for the Position Statement Committee of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the International Federation for Obesity and Metabolic Surgery (IFSO-APC) and a member of the 1E50 Communication Committee. She is an elected member of the executive committee of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of India. She is an invited speaker at many national and international conferences.

Dr Aparna did her MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha in 2002. She also did her MS in General Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha in 2006. She did her Training in Basic Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery from Center for Obesity and Diabetes Support, Mumbai in 2008.

She has performed many live surgeries at conferences and training programs at the national level. She has handled numerous complex medical cases and is known for her attention to detail, accurate diagnosis, and treating patients with empathy.
