He did his MD in Dermatology from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai in 1978. He also completed a Fellowship in Dermatology and Venereology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai in 1978.

He has participated in research work and various workshops under the various departments and published many papers. He is an active member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
