Dr. Soumen Das

Dr Soumen Das is a Surgical Oncologist associated with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital, Pancha Sayar. He has 18 years of experience and pioneered HIPEC and PIPAC procedures in eastern India. He is the founder of the Institute of Breast Diseases of Kolkata.

Doctor Soumen Das has contributed to handling numerous complex medical cases in several hospitals. He is known for his attention to accurate diagnosis and treating patients empathetically. 

The speciality interests of Dr Soumen are hormone therapy for breast cancer treatment, endosurgery, trauma surgery, hormone therapy for various cancers, cancer screening and prevention.

He is also an active member of the International Society of Breast Surgery (ISBS) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).

4. Visiting Fellow of the City of Hope Hospital in Los Angeles, California, where he learned the art of HIPEC Surgery
5. Fellow in Robotic Cancer Surgery, COH Hospital, LA, USA

The Association of Surgeons India honoured him with the Uma Rani Saha Gold Medal. The American College of Surgeons awarded him the prestigious FACS. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh awarded him the degrees of FRCS and MRCS, respectively.

He is the first Indian surgeon certified by European Breast Surgical Oncology Certification.

Dr Soumen received many awards like:

3.  Bishnu Pada Thakur Memorial Award
4. Smt. Anuka Banerjee Memorial Award for his outstanding academic career
