Dr. Subhadra Jalali

Dr Subhadra Jalali is an Ophthalmologist associated with L V Prasad Eye Institute, Banjara Hills. She has 38 years of experience in Ophthalmology and has worked as an expert in different cities in India. She is also the Director of the Newborn Eye Health Alliance (NEHA) at LVPEI, which provides neonatal eye care.

In addition, she is on the National Task Force on ROP, Govt of India, and is an expert advisor on ROP to the Governments of Bangladesh and the Philippines.

Dr Jalali did her MS in Ophthalmology from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1989 and a Fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Diseases from L V Prasad Eye Institute. She also completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Retinal Diseases from William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan.

She has set up training centres through grants from Sightsavers (UK), Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust (UK), Orbis International (USA), and Cognizant Foundation (India), to name a few.

She has also participated in research and various workshops in the Ophthalmology department, and she has given 750 presentations and published 180 articles in national and international journals.
