Dr Purshotam Lal is working as the Chairman and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Metro Heart Hospital with Multispeciality, Faridabad and Metro Hospital and Heart Institute, Noida. He has 46 years of experience in Cardiology and worked as an expert Cardiologist in different cities of India. He was previously associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and Apollo Hospital, Chennai.

Doctor Purshotam Lal has introduced the Largest number of procedures for the first time in the country such as Rotational Angioplasty, Diamond Drilling, Heart Hole Closure, Stenting, etc. He also Performed the first case of Aortic Valve Replacement with Core Valve, without surgery on July 12, 2004, at Metro Heart Institute, Noida on Mr G P Ojha 68 Years old, it being the 1st case in the World.

He was awarded the Life Lifetime Achievement award by the Delhi Medical Association in 2002 and was Listed several times in the Limca Book Of World Records. He also earned the World’s Greatest Leader title at the India-UAE Business Summit in 2015.

Dr Lal has Developed a new concept of METRO CORONARY SCREENING for patients who have been having a phobia of conventional coronary angiography. It consists of coronary angiography through the elbow, echo, and blood studies. It takes 5 minutes and the patient goes home within 1 hour. He Performed more than 11,000 cases with 100% success, the largest series in the world.

He Performs the largest number of angioplasties/stenting as a single operator in the country and as per "Heal Health Magazine" the largest number in the world as a single operator.

Dr Purshotam Lal did his graduation with an MBBS and post-graduation with an MD in General Medicine. He also completed his Fellowship In Cardiology from the American College of Cardiology. He has also participated in research work and various workshops under the Cardiology department and published many papers.

He is an active member of the Cardiovascular Research Society, British Cardiovascular Interventional Society, Standing Committee, ESIC, Govt of India, Delhi Medical Council, Central Council of Health and Family Welfare, Govt, and Expert Committee for Medical Devices, Ministry of Health, Govt of India.
