Dr Samuel Mathew is a well-known Interventional Cardiologist associated with Apollo Hospital, Greams Road. He has 51 years of experience in Cardiology and has worked as an expert Cardiologist in different cities in India. Dr Samuel did his graduation with MBBS from Government Medical College, Kottayam in 1974 and post graduation with MD in General Medicine from Stanley Medical College, Chennai in 1978. He also completed his DM in Cardiology from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1981. He has also participated in research work and various workshops under the Cardiology department and published many papers.

Dr Samuel Mathew was awarded the Padmashree by the President of India in 1999. He is also the recipient of Dr. B. C. Roy Award in Interventional Cardiology (1996), Doctor of Science Award by Dr. M.G.R. University (2003) and Lifetime Achievement Award (2008).
