Dr. Kiruba Shankar

Dr. Kiruba Shankar is a well-known Otolaryngologist currently associated with Rela Hospital, Chennai. He has 19 years of experience in Endoscopic Skull base surgery and worked as an expert in different cities of India. He has worked in many reputed hospitals like Apollo Spectra Hospital, Tamil Nadu and AIIMS, Delhi.

Doctor Kiruba has contributed to handling many complex medical cases in several hospitals. He is known for his attention to accurate diagnosis and for treating patients with empathy. He is an active member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Skull Base Surgery Society of India and the Association of Otolaryngologists of India.

Dr. Shankar did his MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Chennai in 2005. He then did his MS in Otolaryngology from JIPMER, Pondicherry in 2010. He also did a Diploma in National Board in Otolaryngology from JIPMER, Pondichery in 2010 and a Fellowship in skull base surgery from All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi in 2017.

He has also participated in research work, and various workshops under the Otolaryngology department, and published many papers. Doctor Shankar has also received many awards in his field like Kameshwaran Gold Medal at National Level for best outgoing student in 2010 and Eswaran Shakuntala Gold Medal conferred by Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai in 2005.
