What are the various ways by how you can create ABHA Card

Quick Summary

  • The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to establish the National Digital Health Ecosystem (NDHE), a standardised system that will make it easier for people in India to access and share medical information.
  • The mission was launched on September 27, 2021, and aims to give every Indian citizen a digital health ID that would make it simple to access their medical records.
  • The ABHA card is a digital health ID card that stores all of your medical data online. This makes it easy for you to access your medical records whenever you need them, and it also makes it easier for doctors to share your information with other healthcare providers.

Recent years have seen a fast digitalisation of healthcare. It has dramatically improved the efficiency of medical information in the healthcare sector. As a result, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to establish the National Digital Health Ecosystem (NDHE), a standardised system that will make it easier for people in India to access and share medical information.

India's government launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission on September 27, 2021. The mission's objective was to give every Indian citizen a digital health ID that would make it simple to access their medical records. This ID is a universally usable 14-digit identifying number valid throughout India.

It can be inconvenient to bring all of your previous medical records with you when you visit the doctor. Wouldn't it be effortless if you could save all of your medical data online instead? In light of this, the Indian government unveiled the "Ayushman Bharat Health Account" (ABHA) card, a digital health ID card.

Health benefits of ABHA

If you sign up and download an ABHA health ID card, you can take advantage of the following:

  1. You may view your medical information, including tests, diagnoses, medication prescriptions, and more, with just a few clicks.
  2. Your medical records can be readily shared with hospitals, clinics, doctors, etc. As a result, you can access healthcare even in unfamiliar areas.
  3. You can acquire the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR), a directory of all Indian physicians.
  4. Additionally, you get access to the Health Facility Registry (HFR), a directory of all Indian public and private medical facilities.
  5. Additionally, AYUSH treatment institutions accept this card. Among the available treatments are Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and homeopathy.

It is significant to remember that:

  1. Only with the informed agreement of an individual will the health records associated with their Health IDs or ABHA numbers be accessible.
  2. Once the Health ID card or ABHA number is generated, people will also have the opportunity to create an alias, also known as an "ABHA address" (formerly known as a "PHR address"), which is comparable to an email ID and requires a password. The alias of the Health ID Cards will increase accessibility for ABHA.
