Following his MBBS graduation from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1994, Dr Talwar pursued his MS in General Surgery from AIIMS in 1999. During his time in Delhi NCR, he played a leading role in advancing Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, focusing on the treatment of diabetes and severe obesity.

He developed a new cost-effective approach to Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (Scarless Surgery) for procedures such as gallbladder, appendix, and hernia, utilizing standard instruments and equipment to minimize expenses.

He is also an active member of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Delhi Medical Council (DMC).
